Since 2018, Sam has been collaborating with Gravity Water, a non-profit organization that transforms rain into safe drinking water for schools in need around the world. His work has taken him to remote communities in Nepal, Vietnam, and Indonesia, where he has documented the organization’s innovative approach to rainwater harvesting through documentary storytelling in both video and photo.
Working directly with Gravity Water’s international teams, Sam has captured the transformative impact of these projects on local communities and schoolchildren. His visual storytelling highlights how the organization’s sustainable water systems have improved health and education outcomes by providing reliable access to clean water. This collaboration has been a profound experience for Sam, showcasing the tangible benefits of innovative, low-tech solutions in addressing global water challenges.

Sam’s first video with Gravity Water in 2018 documented their work at a rural school in Bac Ha, Vietnam, where the organization provided a sustainable rainwater harvesting system to ensure students had access to clean drinking water. Capturing the impact of this project firsthand highlighted the urgent need for innovative, community-driven water solutions in underserved areas. This experience marked the beginning of an ongoing collaboration.
