For many years, my mindset was to travel the world, to see more, learn more, explore more. Over time, through conversations with friends, I realized that while I was incredibly proud to be from my home state of California, I had seen so little of it. Naturally, when a friend proposed we go backpacking in Yosemite, I was eager to revisit the natural wonder for my third time. There is something indescribable of this place, a true sense of awe comes over anyone that visits these monolithic granite towers. But as we watched from Taft Point the steady flow of cars out of the park, the sun began to set and hues of pink and purple filled the valley. It is one thing to visit the parks in California, it is another to give them the time to truly mesmerize you. I look forward to returning to this park for the rest of my life and I have no doubt that each time, it will reveal something new.
